Pennsylvania's 1968 Constitution invests in the state Supreme Court general supervisory and administrative authority over all of the Commonwealth's courts. The Court Administrator of Pennsylvania, who is appointed by the Supreme Court, heads the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts (AOPC), which was established in January, 1969.
